The United States (North): Major Robert Anderson
Major Anderson was born in Kentucky in 1805 in to a pro-slavery family. He had taught ar
eneral for the United States (North). He was known for being a commander in the Battle of Fort Sumter. He thought he was faliure for not being able to protect the fort. He carried Fort Sumter flag with him back to the North. That was big symbol for the war. So everyone respected him for coming back.
After 4 years later fought for Fort Sumter again after he had surrendered and put of the same flag that he had put down when he surrendered. H was remembered as a Hero of Fort Sumter in the North.
He retired in the year of 1863, his was promoted to Kentucky then was assigned to Rhode Island just before he retired from military work.

The Confederacy (South): General P.G.T. Beauregard
General Beauregard was born in Louisiana in 1818. He was a military officer, politician, inventor, writer, civil servant, and the first general for the Confederate army.He was a admirer of Napoleon so he was often called, "The little Napoleon".
FUN FACT: He was one of the students of Robert Anderson, when Anderson taught artillery for 2 years in West poin and later became his assistant. Also he was called "the little creole" because he had creole apperence and style.
General Beauregard, who also known as "the Hero of Fort Sumter", he was a full time general in the Confederate army when South seceded from the Union. After the civil war, he decided to work as a railroad director and managed the Louisiana lottery.
